Day 25: Bruce Springsteen

For this week's artist spotlight we have The Boss. Just like Van Morrison, it's easy to just limit a list to his hits, because he has so many. But, I've decided to put together a few hidden gems as well as some of his more well-known tracks. Also, the list is really heavy on early Boss, mainly because I think most of the things he did post-1984 (Born in the USA) was kinda corny and synth-heavy. I realize that not everyone is the biggest Springsteen fan. He's either hit or miss. Regardless, It's Boss Time!

Day 24: Original Dixieland Jass Band

On this day in 1917, the Original Dixieland Jass Band recorded the first ever jazz record. In honor of this momentous occasion, I've put together some of my favorite jazz numbers. There are some genres of music that I feel I know a lot about. And some I know next to nothing. Jazz would definitely fall in the latter. But, I know what I like, and this list reflects my interest more than standard jazz appreciation. I hope you can groove to it.

Day 22: Fat Tuesday

Mardi Gras!!!! Happy Fat Tuesday everybody! In honor of the start of carnival season I've put together a list of fat musicians. I'm sure there are many missing, but I think I put together a nice sampling of husky artists. And the thing is, there are a lot of artists who got fat after their prime, which doesn't really count as being fat. Even the best of us may pack on some pounds later in life (Van Morrison, Johnny Cash...). Conversely, some artists were big and got small, like John Popper. But people still remember these people as fat, so I count them as fat. Also, some artists have deceptive names. Like "Fat Mike" from NOFX. And Chubby Checker. A little overweight, yeah, but fat? Hardly. Big Pun (RIP). That's fat.

YouTube:
01. Big Punisher - So Hard
02. Fat Joe - No Drama

I hope this list puts some pep in your step and gets you through the day!
